In 1935 Valstar invented the A-1 civilian jacket inspired by the first US Air Force “flying jacket”. This more contemporary version takes over all the codes that made this iconic jacket popular, while adding a tailored dimension with its tailored fit cut, its high premium fabrics and high level of details.

Shoulder width :
Measure between the shoulder seams measured across the back.

Back Lenght :
Measure from the centre back of the base of the collar to the hem.

Chest Circumference :
Lay the shirt buttons fastened and double the measurement across the chest between the lowest point of the arm seams.

Sleeve Lenght :
Combine the measurement from the centre of the collar to the shoulder seam and the measurement from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.

Origines de Valstar

Créée en Angleterre sous le nom d’English Fashion Waterproof, la manufacture devient Valstar en 1911 lors de son déménagement à Milan. Première à façonner des vêtements de pluie en Italie, la maison propose des produits de qualité, fruits d’une savante alchimie, mêlant tradition anglaise et savoir-faire italien.

D'abord orientée vers les imperméables, la gamme s'étend en 1935 à un blouson remarqué par sa qualité et sa simplicité : le Valstarino, futur best-seller de la marque.

En 1935, Valstar développe le Valstarino en s'inspirant de la veste militaire de type A-1, équipement de l'US Air Force de 1927 à 1931. La veste A-1 est un blouson boutonné caractérisé par une peausserie souple, des poches plaquées ainsi que l’usage de tricot pour le col, la ceinture et les poignets.

Devenue une icône du style italien, la veste d’origine militaire est sans cesse réinventée : peausseries hydrofuges, toiles British Millerain ou encore tweeds anglais sont utilisés pour donner vie à un produit totalement hors du temps.
