Inis Meáin is a company based in Aran Islands, Ireland. The population on Inis Meáin Island is only about 200 people, and the main industry is fishing. This has led to a unique craftsmanship on the island in the form of patterned jumpers.
In the 70s, Tarlach de Blacam founded Inis Meain to create jobs, and the company has become a worldwide reference in craftsmanship. They use traditional patterns and fibers like cashmere, alpaca, and wool to produce an authentic product. The signature of Inis Meàin - an upside down currach (a traditional fishing boat) - guarantees that the product has been manufactured in the Aran Islands.
