Begg & Co is a scarf manufacture specialist since 1866. Twenty-five stages of fabrication are needed to create only one scarf. Very carefully manufactured, each scarf is meticulously brushed with dried teasel flowers to give the wool the undulated aspect that has made Begg & Co known worldwide.

Alex Begg started his business in 1866 in Paisley, Scotland. The Begg manufacture began by producing hand-weaved shawls with typical town pattern.
In 1902 the manufacture moved to Ayr in order to have better access to raw materials and proximity to sources of fresh water.
Over a century, Begg produced white-labelled knitwear for famous labels, yet was careful in its choice of partners, among them Brooks Brothers or Fox Linton.
In 2013 Begg manufacture created its own brand: Begg & Co. An entity offering creative independence to affirm an identity of its own.
Highly valued throughout the world, Begg & Co products are the result of a subtle alchemy that mixes craft, traditional machines and leading-edge technology. Only the best practices are used to work on cashmere, silk and other high quality materials.
Extremely vast, craftsmanship can be appreciated in more than 25 types of different finishing touches. For instance, dried teasels (akin to the common thistle) are used for the finishing of cashmere scarves.
Today Michael Drake and Angela Bell respectively design men and women collection. They go beyond classic patterns to appeal from tartan enthusiasts to those of us who like it simple.
