About Drake's

A story about excellence

In 1977 Michael Drake started a scarf business in London. Ties and pocket squares were quickly introduced in the collection and became the heart of the company’s know-how. Drake has since become the most important handmade tie manufacturer in Great Britain.

In 2010, Mark Cho purchased Drake, yet its founder made sure that his craftsmanship was not handed down. The management did not change, neither did the spirit and quality of the company.

More recently, in 2013, the purchase by Rayner and Sturges lead to the introduction of a ready-to-wear shirts collection. This capsule collection was extended to great measure in 2014.

Ties, a cultural product

Still today, ties are designed and manufactured in London at 3 Haberdasher Street. The adjoining designing studios and manufacturing workshops insure that the spirit of the product is not lost. Excellence is appropriate, 18 quality controls are carried out during the course of production.

English or Italian fabrics are selected very carefully such as Shantung and Tussah silksSome very exclusive patterns are designed by the company.

Philosophy

Drake’s products are the essence of English style and understatement. Michael Drake wants them to combine quality, style and comfort.

« The small consideration, the subtle element, the fine points really do matter. »
