Mud-Dyed Hooded Sweatshirt: Brown

Founded in 2017 by Taiga Takahashi, T.T reinterprets American pieces from the 1920s to the 1950s through the rigor of Japanese craftsmanship, preserving forgotten know-how in timeless creations.

This hooded sweatshirt draws inspiration from the so-called "after-hooded" style, common before the 1950s, in which the hood was sewn onto the body after construction rather than integrated into a single pattern. It features an asymmetric snap-button closure at the neckline, for a closer fit. The cotton jersey is knitted in Wakayama, Japan, on a hanging knitting machine dating back to the Taishō era (1912-1926). Tubular in construction (without side seams), the fabric is produced slowly, at roughly one meter per hour, giving the knit a subtly irregular texture. The Mud Dyed Brown colorway is achieved through a traditional Japanese mud-dyeing technique, applied piece by piece.
