Collection: PARABOOT

At the beginning of the 20th century, Rémy Richard, a cutter from Izeaux, founded the Richard-Pontvert company with his wife Juliette Pontvert. After the First World War, he discovered the potential of rubber and developed his own vulcanized soles. In 1927, he created the Paraboot brand—a contraction of "Para," the Amazonian port, and "boot," a latex shoe first seen in the United States.

True to its Goodyear or Norwegian welted soles, Paraboot resisted the post-war trend for glued soles. It also designed lighter models for field work, such as the "Morzine," then the legendary "Michael" in 1945. The brand also develops shoes for parachutists, explorers, Mirage pilots, horse riders and motorcyclists, and opened an ice skate factory in 1972.
