Since 1873, Moonstar company has been producing minimal and functional footwear in Kurume, Japan. Kurume first prospered in the rubber industry manufacturing tires and Jika-Tabi shoes, a rubber-soled work boots with a split toe. Each pair of Moonstar are cut and sew by hand. When they are fully assembled the next stage of the process is called “vulcanisation” or “ka-ryu” in Japanese. At Moonstar they often say “shoes like pottery” because each pair of shoes is fired just like ceramics in a oven during one hour in order to merge the sole with the upper of the shoe.
This model revisits an iconic training shoe from the 1960s.

Since 1873, Moonstar has been manufacturing shoes in Kurume, Japan, that combine traditional craftsmanship with technical innovation. Each pair is carefully cut, sewn, and assembled by hand, then subjected to vulcanization ("ka-ryu"), a unique process that permanently fuses the rubber sole and canvas upper. This rare craftsmanship, passed down for over 150 years, guarantees sturdy, comfortable, and timeless shoes, true to the spirit of Made in Kurume.

- Delivery times: Your order is delivered within 2 to 3 days in France, 3 to 5 days in the European Union, and 5 to 10 days in the rest of the world.
- Orders outside the European Union: Import duties and taxes are paid by the customer at delivery (DAP); additional fees may be requested by the carrier.
