The story of J.M. WESTON begins at the end of the 19th century, in the heart of France’s Limousin region, with its long tradition of tanning and leather working. Despite its English-sounding name, J.M WESTON embodies a very French – and more precisely, very Parisian – form of elegance, in which timeless style is given a bold twist with contemporary influences. From the French Mods the so-called "Bande du Drugstore" to the Republican Guard, J.M. Weston is a myth and a reference of French style.

About J.M. Weston for BEIGE

A very French style

The story of J.M. Weston begins in 1891 in Limoges, France, a city known for tanning and leatherworking. Édouard Blanchard set up his shoe factory there. His son, Eugène, joined the adventure and traveled to Weston (near Boston, Massachusetts) to learn modern manufacturing methods such as the Goodyear welted technique. In 1922, Eugène Blanchard partnered with a Parisian dandy, Monsieur Viard, to create J.M. Weston, a brand that combines Parisian elegance with timeless style.

The French Mods, the so-called "Bande du Drugstore", popularized J.M. Weston loafers wearing it “barefoot”, teamed with jeans, in the 60s, estabilishing an icon. Weston's French styling introduces a contemporary twist to design classics, making use of rich materials to create impertinent yet charming styles. Despite its English-sounding name, J.M Weston embodies a very French – and more precisely, very Parisian – form of elegance, in which timeless style is given a bold twist with contemporary influences. This is the art of the French style: master the opposites, new associations, different eras.
